Subject: Duke PAWS

Description: Duke PAWS facilitates volunteering with local animal shelters such as the Animal Protection Society of Durham and the Orange County shelter, to help socialize shelter dogs and cats looking to be adopted. Socializing these animals is important because unfriendly animals who are not comfortable with humans are less likely to get adopted. We also plan campus events to raise awareness and funds for local shelters, and we host service therapy dogs at various campus libraries to de-stress students.
