Subject: The Global Health Forum (GHF) is a student-run organization that facilitates interaction between students, groups, faculty, and the larger community relating to global health.

Description: The Global Health Forum is a listserv that is operated by the Global Health Branch of the Duke Partnership for Service (dPS). http://dps.dukegroups.duke.edu/

The Global Health Outreach team is a student-run branch of dPS that facilitates interaction between students, groups, faculty, the Duke Global Health Institute, and the larger community relating to global health. Even prior to the existence of dPS, the Global Health Outreach team existed for several years at Duke through its former identity as the Global Health Forum (and prior to that as the Global Health Student Action Committee). The Global Health Forum listserv remains as the title of the Global Health team's weekly news blast to students at Duke University. Since the late Aalok S. Modi, the Global Health Outreach team has continued to build every year upon a tradition of excellence, support, and strong relationships with those who are passionate about Global Health. The Global Health Outreach team seeks to unite students and organizations in the spirit of collaborative endeavors throughout the year – the culmination being orchestrating Global Health Week at Duke University every Spring.

The intent of the dPS Global Health branch's Global Health Forum is to foster creative energy
and create an activist network in the Duke campus
community by:

1. Exposing students to global health activities at Duke and facilitate the
involvement of students in activities that
interest them.

2. Providing a forum for the numerous Duke Global Health STUDENT GROUPS, especially at the undergraduate level, to publicize their events and programs to other students passionate about global health on campus.

3. Actively supporting and facilitating community
engagement in global health and humanitarian
activities, conferences, lectures, etc.
